A New Horizon
Team BK
2000, 72 minutes
Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
A New Horizon showcases the talents of many Southern California skaters, a handful of which are well known today. The video includes parts from Joey Pulsifer, Stacy Lowery, Allyson Castro, Justin Reynolds, Danny Montoya, Robert Lim, Rob Gonzalez, Chad TimTim, Steffan Attardo, Shawn Weiland, Mike Vallely, and the Warner Avenue Crew. Mark Nisbet takes an artistic approach to the production by incorporating Super 8, 16mm and DV footage. Most of the skating is street footage from Southern California, with the occasional park and ramp clips. From bench lines to hammers, this video is very diverse and has something for everyone.

A New Horizon is a favorite of my collection, because it includes some debut video parts from some of today's rippers. The video is edited in a very unique way, where each part flows into the next. With some parts being intense with the music and others just mellow, the video is an attention grabber. This was filmed almost entirely in Southern Cali, so you can expect to see some diverse terrain (i.e. a picnic table set up to an empty water fountain.) Even better, one might also see a guy smash a bottle on his head. Nonetheless, it is all quite entertaining. Overall, the skating is very diverse which means hammers and tech footy are both abundant. The only complaint I have is about the music in the video, but I'm guessing that our buddy Mark chose those tracks for a reason. Peep the video, because there aren't too many others like it.
