Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Black Out is the newest offering from John Lucero's Black Label Skates. It runs a whopping 55 minutes and is pure skateboarding. No skits, no filler, no bullshit. The terrain is as varied as the team, with true street, ledges and stairs, parks, pools, mini-ramp, vert and even the occasional ditch in the middle of nowhere. Tech, gnar, and everything in between is all showcased within. The tunes cater to punk/rock variety with the Stitches, Ted Nugent, Metallica, Hendrix, Duane Peters and the Huns, and for the speed/thrash enthusiasts out there, Sepultura and SOD.

This is probably the best skate video I have seen since Welcome to Hell or even Video Days. I am quite sure tears of joy were involved somewhere. The music is great, the filming is perfect and the skating is top-notch. The Label has such a huge talented team that this video makes for a varied and truly interesting visual experience. Ragdoll's crazy tricks, Jim Gagne's burliness, Jub's gnarliness and Gilley's high speed handrail onslaught are just too much to take in. My only complaints are that Lucero and Neil Blender didn't have a longer intro part together and that Wade Speyer didn't have a longer part. And where is Hensley?
