Recipe for Disaster follows the Real ams on a month-long tour from California to Texas and back. Their daily itinerary consists of putting on a demo at the local park, skating the local handrails, and going back to the hotel for the usual tour video hijinks. There’s a short section in the middle of the video showing footage of some of the pros on a Japan tour followed by a few tricks each from the other pros. All of this goes down to the tunes of a mostly punk rock soundtrack.

Can these guys do nothing wrong? Handrail nollie disaster slides, kickflip backside rail slides, and krooks, plus long gaps and stairs set the mood for some good lovin', Real style! You also get perfect bluntslides, noseblunt slides on ledges and handrails alike. I was definitely amused by the soundtrack, which is good comedy from my viewpoint, especially with the presence of Judas Preist. This video is big and bad-ass, just like my 1st lady bus driver that takes me to summer school every afternoon on my lunch hour nap!

I’m not a big fan of tour videos, but not once during Recipe for Disaster did I find myself asking, “Is it over yet?” While the predominant form of skating presented is handrails, it never really gets too monotonous. Further helping those with short attention spans is a section thrown in the middle featuring a few tricks from each of the Real pros. I always enjoy watching Cairo Foster, Nate Jones, and Keith Hufnagel. If you’re not already out skating by the time the credits roll, you’ll be treated to “Bonus Footage” of some 411 commercials, and the one with Nate doing stunt work for the Gonz is especially funny. As far as tour videos go, this is a good one.
