Scenic Drive
Powell
1995, 35 minutes
Current Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Scenic Drive was released in 1995 and is Powell’s lucky thirteenth. This video features the talents of such riders as Steve Caballero, Jon Comer, Jason Ellis, Jayme Fortune and more. Expect to feast your eyes on plenty of ledges, rails, stair and park skating. The maximum window of entertainment is 35 minutes.

Scenic Drive was released around the same time Girl came out with Mouse, but one could only be so hopeful in receiving the same caliber of video. More so, it’s safe to say that Scenic Drive is not even close to being as good as ANY of the videos of its time. Steve Cab sticks to his usual line up of 50-50s and krooked grinds, while Mike Vallely takes his style back a decade (when he was at the peak of his career). The only decent part goes to Jayme Fortune, but even his part’s lame because it’s only 30 seconds long. The editing is also a little sloppy, but maybe it’s just a sign of the times. When looking at the roster for this video, I noticed that almost all of these skaters no longer ride for Powell. Could this be because of how bad Powell made them look?
