As they travel across the country the crew stops at countless parks and spots to do a demo and destroy a spot. The featured sessions include New York City, Philadelphia and Love Park, The St Louis Arch, the Skatepark of Tampa, Stone Edge skatepark, New Lennox, IL., Ft Collins,CO., and many other spots in between. Along the way the kids at Thrasher run into other pros, ams and rippers. January 27, 2002 On the Road gives a good look at the life of a touring team. The video features parks and spots that are not seen in every other California born-and-bred video, which gives the video a unique and creative feel. A lot of the skating is in various parks, with some street action intermixed, which also gives a refreshing change to most videos. Moreover, within touring, there isn't the time to plan out the perfect spot to spend the day at trying to get the one gnarly hammer down. Instead, On the Road features pure daily skating, of the “one try is all you get” philosophy. There are benefits and disadvantages to this. The benefit is that the skating is pure and honest, but the disadvantage is that some of the skating isn't as crazy as you would normally see in most videos. Thrashathon
