Current Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Chaos contains an equal mix of street, skatepark and vert skating. With the help of the notoriously small wheels of 1992, the rolling is slow, the landings are a little rough, and the flipery is abundant. Double 360 flips, kickflips, and varial flips all make appearances, not to mention shove-its, flips in and out of grinds, and boardslides. Transitions were limited in presence, but contained various grabs, blunts, etc.

The Powell video Chaos didn't live up to its name. Nothing was even close to being chaotic, except the jerky editing. I was somewhat disappointed because Powell's earlier videos (i.e. Animal Chin) are usually more interesting than most of their contemporaries. I guess it's sad, but I remember Chris Senn's car and his driving sequence more than the other skateboarding parts of the video. Get ready 'cause now I'm complaining. The music really didn't do much for me either (the Pearl Jam song is especially un-chaotic). However, the Motorhead tune provided a hint of chaos, but it still couldn't make up for the rest of the video.

I love this video. It's older than most skaters now, but I still love it. Wade Speyer skates to Motorhead in a time when tranny and vert were uncool (360's over spines, and 540's on vert), which makes me happy. Bucky's part is good too, with tricks like 360 reverts from nosestalls and triple flips, with really tacky techno music to boot. Frankie Hill skates to the worst rap-song on the planet and abuses the pressure flip, but it’s still good to keep in perspective that the pressure flip was once cool. However, the highlight goes to the little rippers on Powell, who display ability beyond their years, like Rachman Chung and Brandon Novak. Chaos is surely one for your collection.
