Griptape and Gasoline Homeslice 2000, 50 minutes Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Griptape and Gasoline is a video that plays like a road-trip. The skateboarding is partaken at a plethora of places, including Northern Cali, Skatopia, Kona, Burnside, and various spots in Arizona and Texas. The majority of skating is done in parks and other areas that have transitions, bowls and pools. There are also a variety of skateboarders, from recognizable names to ones lesser known, including a session where the legendary Tim Brauch punishes Modesto. R.I.P. brother. July 17, 2002 The title says everything. Griptape being skateboard and gasoline meaning skate scenes across the United States. Street skating absent and heavy on the transitions, Griptape and Gasoline focuses mainly on skateparks, pools, bowls, etc. The segments from Burnside, Kona, and Skatopia are highlights, but the rest of the video isn't a disappointment. It also contains a shit ton of different spots and bands, which reflects on the length of the video. So even with my absence of an attention span it wasn't a struggle to keep the eyes on the prize.
