Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

In this mid 90’s video, the Santa Cruz team takes what could be a straightforward skate video and spices it up with a comedic news report theme that tells the viewer about the secret lives of the skater they’re about to see. Watch a half-hour of Tim Brauch, Israel Forbes, Tony Tieu, and the rest of the Santa Cruz team destroy street terrain all across the USA. The video mostly consists of flip trick variations to the beat of those oldies-but-goodies.

At first I didn’t really dig the news report format, but I must admit that some of the segments made me laugh and were pretty entertaining. The tricks in this video are mostly straightforward, nothing extraordinary. Although this is true, there is good flow within each section. Each ollie and kickflip is smooth and clean with nothing sketchy at all. From a filming perspective, this video is also decent considering the time period in which it was made. A lot of the music is oldies, which is a good change from the hip-hop and punk that all too many videos have. Overall, this video is a good watch.
