I have never really been a fan of 411, or any video magazine for that matter. However, the one thing to benefit from 411s other than catching up on who is on top of their game, is being able to revisit the olden days for an hour and enjoy what skateboarding used to be. At the time this issue was released, skateboarding was just starting to gain momentum popularity-wise, and tech-gnar was becoming the style of choice. Adrian Lopez's short section is a perfect example of the progression going on at the time. His entire part is burly, clean skating with a good mix of tech. Jim Greco's part on the other hand, which only lasts about a minute, is almost all hammers, the best of which is a huge backside 5-0 on a over waist-high ledge. However, the highlight of this issue is the coverage of Shred for Life gathering of pros and ams in support of a cure for cancer. Bam, without a doubt, destroys the mini ramp for a good cause while everyone else looks on in wonder. An average issue of 411, but definitely worth checking out.
