Y'all know the 411 on 411. This issue is made up of Profiles on Mike Vallely, Ed Templeton, and Matt Reason, Rookies of Paul Zitzer, Jerry Fowler and Clyde Singleton, Wheels of Fortune with Muska, Lenny Kirk, Jon Comer, Moses Itoken and Drake Jones, A team spotlight on the original Flip team, Girl/Chocolate/Firm tour and a Philadelphia metrospective. As you can see by the list of skaters, the streets predominated the video, but hey this is 411 so there is everything in this video, and just about everyone.

This Best Of 411 is quite a time capsule. I’ve always known Bam as the king "jackass" of the CKY series and the TV show spin-off, so seeing him as an adolescent nollie heelflipping a 7 in Philly is strange, yet cool. It’s also a real treat to see Drake Jones, who has disappeared from the current pro ranks. The Mike V profile is very in depth and informative, as are most of the articles, but there are some disappointing aspects of the film. The Flip Industry section is more skit than skating (I was really hoping for a good chunk of Penny footage). The music in many of the parts is unbearable and often doesn’t go well with the skating. Viewing this video made me realize how far 411 has come, because the production value of this video is not nearly as high the standard 411 has created for itself today. The editing is also mediocre, as is the filming. However, the video is an overall enjoyable ride.

411 is 411. Despite being a Best Of issue, it’s really no different from the others. All of the parts are good and the skating is consistent throughout. The interviews and info about the skaters is a bit more than lacking, but for most of the featured skaters, the skating speaks for the rider. The only thing that sucks is the introduction and the pitiful attempt to be dramatic in the beginning of the segments. It just starts the segments off on the wrong foot. This video is good otherwise and gives you a look at a ton of different styles.
