If this video were dinner, it would be Thanksgiving. If this video were a shirt, it would be a dashiki. If this video were an uncle, it would be Phil from the Fresh Prince. Do you get what I'm saying? I pressed play and the familiar 411 theme made me feel all cool. 411's editing was right on as always and I knew how cool I looked when I watched the DC Team skate the bad teeth out of Europe. Then came the Sleazyriders section from Flip. I thought they were cool because they didn't really care about being cool. Ali Boulala got caught up on a railing from 20 feet and ended up in the hospital with an arm that looked different from most normal people's arms. I thought to myself, "Damn, that wasn't cool." A Day in the Life of Ed Templeton was cool, too. Unfortunately, there was music from the Doors and that was about as far away from cool as one can get. Cool.

This 411 is excellent. Packed with a load of great articles, it doesn't drag at any point throughout its entirety. One of my favorite parts in the video is the Switzerland world report showing Jonas Sohn, Love Eneroth, and Guy Kampfen. Some of these names may not sound familiar, but you should keep them in mind, because they’re blowing up. The Phil Shao tribute makes me realize what a great loss the skating community has sustained and how talented Shao was. Ed Templeton's day in the life is hilarious, especially the massive gash he gets on his shin at UCI. However, out of all the great articles in the video, the Flip amateur industry section is the most memorable. Eric Brockman and Alex Moul skate well, but Ali Boulala takes the cake. Not with his skating, but by ollieing off a 2 story balcony and snapping his wrist in two! That fall has haunted me ever since I viewed the footage... I keep seeing it every time I skate drops.
