1992, 30 minutes
Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

The original box for Debbie Does Blockhead only lists 3 skaters (Jeremy Wray, Rick Jamarillo, and Laban Pheidias) but the video also contains a few Blockhead ams. The skating is typical of 1992: lots of (slow rolling) flip tricks including double flips, kickflip late shove-its, and back foot flips. EMB is also showed throughout, another staple circa 92. Musically, Debbie Does Blockhead mostly contains rock-n-roll with a short Beastie Boys parody thrown in for variety.

Debbie does Blockhead. The title's not too funny but Laban Pheidias' introduction sure is. Not to take away from his skating part because it holds it own for the time period. Everytime I watch a video from early 90's I can't hold back a comment (to myself or anyone that will listen) about the sloppy garments the skaters are wearing. Not that it was so ridiculous then, but more the fact that people still dress that clowny today. Superficial? Yes, but true. Why wear shoes if you can't see them?! Actually I kind of enjoy this era of skateboarding. It paved the way (as everyone knows) for the business of street skating today. Back to the video, most of the non-skating parts are worth a laugh, maybe not out loud, but part 3 with the Barbies definately could have been shortened. Barbie clam is only funny for 2 minutes, not 12!!
