Current Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Plan B's Virtual Reality brings you a mix of mini ramp, vert, and street skating. Following a typical format, the featured skaters, such as Danny Way and Pat Duffy, have lengthy sections and there are short appearances of friends and ams including Eric Koston, Jason Lee, and Wade Speyer. The video is straight to the point with no skits or pranks. The credits have some outtakes and bails, and the music covers every genre, from the Beatnuts to Ozzy.

With Plan B you just can't go wrong. The company truly helped skateboarding evolve to where it is today. This video is a fine example of one of the most experimental and progressive eras in skateboarding. Colin McKay is a vert dog now, but his part really proves his street credibility. He pulls some mean switch lines that are pretty impressive. Danny Way is also the man and he skillfully demonstrates his mastery of all terrains. It’s really enjoyable to watch Carroll and Howard before their Girl days, because you can almost sense that they are destined for greater things. The only beef I have (and it's piddily) is that Duffy's part just doesn't live up to the amazing part he threw down on Plan B's previous video Questionable. His skating is still at a high level, but I was hoping he would top himself in some way. Aside from this minor issue that most don't care about, the video is digital gold.

Virtual Reality is by no means your average video. Plan B has always had an amazing team. I mean, with Danny Way, Mike Carroll, Mullen, Pat Duffy, etc., you can't argue that these guys are anything but great. Sal Barbier's part rips and all the kids that have worn his signature 23 shoes need to see him skate to realize exactly why his shoe outlasted his professional skateboard career. Sean Sheffey is another one of those dudes who you don't see a lot in magazines and videos. His part starts out by him ollieing over his toddler kid.... meaning either he's crazy, or he's got one solid (and high) ollie. Overall, Virtual Reality rules. Not quite as eye-popping as Questionable, but it still has its moments and needs to be seen by any skater that wants to see the roots of street skating.
