Cky Bam Margera 1999, 55 minutes Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars CKY is the first of the videos that led to the whole MTV "Jackass" phenomenon. In fact, the first episode of Jackass has clips from this video in it. Although CKY may have originally been released from Landspeed, it's far from your average team skate video. The video mainly consists of pranks, stunts, and skits by Bam Margera and Brandon Dicamillo and their entire group of friends (including several pro skaters). Littered between the pranks are bits of skating which add up to about 1/3 of the video. The soundtrack, as the title implies, is provided by Camp Kill Yourself. September 24, 2002 CKY is a huge seller and lots of non-skaters are familiar with it since Jackass has made Bam and Brandon national celebrities. The popularity of this video and its sequels have led to backlash from some of my diehard skateboarding friends. However, I'm not going to let that affect my opinion of it. When I first saw CKY I thought it was great. Keep in mind, this isn't a skate video. It's not really something you watch before you skate. It's something you make all your friends watch because it relies so much on shock value. But there is skating in the video and it is great... Bam Margera rips up FDR (as always), Kerry Getz destroys all sorts of parks, and we even get to see a few tricks from Josh Kalis, Tom Penny and Donny Barley as well. I think for what it is, this video's great, and is definitely worth checking out if you like watching pranks. Dale Nixon
