In between Spike Jonze directed segments chronicling the desert adventures of "Los Banditos" and the "Law," a.k.a the Chocolate and Girl teams, are: lots of street skating, lines, lines, lines, switch skating and ledges. Most people have more fingers on one hand than the total number of handrail tricks in this video. The soundtrack is mostly deep funk and sweet soul with some reggae, salsa, psychedelic South American pipe music and a Journey song to seal the deal. For those who don't understand Spanish, this video is subtitled in English.

I almost always go out and skate after watching this video. There are more lines in Paco than a toy store on Christmas Eve. The skating is so smooth that the switch skating seems regular and may make one doubt what foot Keenan really was. Fans of big gaps and handrails may not dig this video, but the style the Girl and Chocolate skaters exude should be enough to make up for this. These guys are smooth! The soundtrack is also amazing and goes well with the skating. The downfall to this video may be the Spike Jonze interludes, but even these become endearing with successive viewing. Film buffs may note the beautiful cinematography. "Bang. Bang. Bang."

Unfortunately, even the much-acclaimed Chocolate team couldn't pull skateboarding out of the doldrums it fell into in the mid 90's. If you think the handrail vids of today are boring, try sitting through 40 minutes of ankle-high ledge tricks. The skits are totally whack and it’s difficult to understand what little there is of a plot. The only really entertaining part about the interludes is that they are filmed and subtitled in English and overdubbed in Spanish. Highlights are sparse, but the Girl team has a good section, Keenan Milton's skating is always a treat and Paulo Diaz has very unique style. Sorry die-hard fans, but you can totally live without seeing this video. Check out Mouse instead!
